Evergreen Properties donates terminal facility September 30, 2014, Big Bear, CA – The Big Bear Airport District has voted to accept a donation from Evergreen Properties. Evergreen currently owns a portion of the office complex in which the terminal is housed, and has donated that portion to the Airport for its use. The additional property contains 13 offices and an unoccupied restaurant. Located at 501 Valley Boulevard, the donation is approximately 24,000 square feet and would bring the airport holdings to 29,137 square feet. The Airport Board does not currently have any plans to change the operation of the facility, although it will review improving the infrastructure. The facility opened in 1982. “Evergreen Properties’ donation is a boon to the airport and the Big Bear community,” said Gary Steube, Big Bear Airport District Board President. “The airport now has ownership and control of all the buildings on its property, and can make independent decisions on the best use of its facilities. Many thanks to the partners of Evergreen Properties for its gracious gesture.” The Airport has accepted the leases for tenants currently renting office space in the building and does not propose changes to tenant leases will occur at this time. The official acceptance of the terminal building occurred at a special Board meeting on September 29.
